Bloggers Luncheon Meeting with Director Jose Javier Reyes
It was a very casual, informal and fun afternoon with the rest of the Bloggers at Dulcinea in Tomas Morato, Quezon City. What was our agenda btw? Yes, we've meet one of the best directors in our country - Direk Jose Javier Reyes. We had so much fun talking and learning from him. The bloggers first introduced themselves to Direk and later on the conversation goes on (non-stop).
First, Direk talked about his upcoming project - My HouseHusband under OctoArts Film starring my favorite couple (Yes, am a Juday-Ryan fan hahaha). Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo. It was not a 'sequel' of their previous flicks but this one is really different. A modern approach for husband who stayed at home and the wife gets the day job. Direk Joey said that this is not a typical comedy film, dealing with flexibility and instant discoveries on dealing with the situation.
I was very fortunate to get to know more of Director Jose Javier Reyes upclose and personal. Bloggers asked more questions about Metro Manila Film Fest, the selection process and his expectations about the film. We all knew that there were two films that withdrew on the last minute and how it affects the production (I'm pertaining to the two films that withdrew). It was really a good opportunity for all moviegoers this season to check out the final film entries on Christmas Season;
"My Househusband"
"Segunda Mano"
"Panday 2"
"Enteng ng Ina Mo"
"Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow"
"Shake, Rattle and Roll 13"
"Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story."
Other questions were more about him as a Director, from his first experience behind the camera and his previous experiences in shooting some other films. Direk is not a loner, but most of the times spent his free hours traveling alone, shopping and love meeting people. On those activities, he was able to reach out from that which inspired him to write down other's personal experiences because He wanted that the film will become more realistic and can touched each of his viewer's heart.
He is also a social networking user. Being online on his precious time is very rewarding. He even tweeted so many times a day and yet received generous followers. Direk Joey believes on the power of internet and how it affect our lives; Also, how viral we could get to be able to convince others to certain activities like recommending a movie that we've seen.
What made me more 'interested' on that afternoon was 'Direk Joey loves Batman (villains)'; as He collects action figures. He owns those Batman action figures on the previous movie of Juday and Ryan. Actually on that afternoon, He wore a Batman Shirt :)
Moreover, That afternoon was very relaxing. No tensions, no pressure compared with other presscon or luncheon wherein we have to screened our questions first before we could ask or fall in line to get a chance to ask.
Thanks to Octo Arts film for the invite. And Direk Joey for that awesome afternoon :) Hi to all Bloggers who were present on that afternoon :) Till our next meet up.
