2016 New Year Resolution for Bloggers

Image
That is right, it's about time to set resolutions for next year. These are goals that we ignore and forget sometimes we just let it pass by until it's too late to change. On this blog post, I will recommend some goals we (bloggers) must consider that will help our blogs grow and accomplish them without hesitation. 1. Review your blog's overall traffic, visitors and bounce rate This is the best time to start reviewing your monthly or yearly traffic stat and how many visitors normally stay to read your blog. If you got below 50% below the fold bounce rate, you're in the right track but if the blog's bounce rate was above 50%, then, that means your visitors don't stay long and just leave immediately. How to fix: Go to Google Analytics and check your page load time. Look for the high bounce rate pages and check your keywords. Those were the key items you need to improve your content. What went wrong? Maybe the keywords you used were attractive but not with your con...

Say hello to the 63-foot Christmas tree in Millennium Park, Chicago, IL

Image
This year, Chicago's annual Christmas tree was moved to Millennium park which was an excellent idea because people can take a look into this beautiful tree in addition to other attractions ice skating rink and Santa Claus house. We went last year at the Chriskindlmarket and it was so crowded. It so hard to take a photo and the space were limited. We were curious on how it looked like this year so despite of rains, we managed to hop around the city and enjoyed the beauty of the Christmas tree. The 63-foot Christmas tree can be seen at Millennium Park between Washington and Michigan Avenue. So if you get off from Blue Line, just take the State Street all the way going to Michigan Avenue. Or if you get off from Washington, you'll able to see Chriskindlmarket and Millennium Park is just few blocks away. Holiday attractions in Millennium Park is free.

My Post Notes from ClickZ Chicago 2015

Image
I won an all access pass to ClickZ Live Chicago last November 17. I would like to thank those who supported and voted for my entry. Yes, this event is worth $2K! Feels like I won a lottery! Every digital marketer (like me), wishes to attend big events like this. So, I grabbed my very last chance on that night to submit my entry. Luckily, I got the highest vote and WON. As promised to everyone am sharing some of the topics as well as the links to the presentations and articles. Are you excited? ClickZ Live Chicago 2015 was held at Hyatt Regency in downtown Chicago. It was a three days of new learnings, discoveries and networking plus full of excitement and fun (happy hour) right after each sessions. The kick off pre-launch party was held a day before the actual event, unfortunately I have work and my workplace is far from downtown. The morning keynote was all about digital transformation and it was amazingly delivered by Victor Lee of Hasbro. As we deal with technology, rampant changes...

Christmas Tree Lighting Celebrations

Image
There were tons of lighting celebrations in different villages and in Chicago (which the giant tree can be seen at Millennium Park). We were fortunate that the temperature got warmer and gave us an opportunity to go out to witness two tree lighting celebrations. Rosemont, Illinois Our home is close by Rosemont (where I usually go shopping and attend conventions like Comic Con). The lighting celebration started with an ice skating dance routine followed by Mr and Mrs Santa parade. One of the main attraction on that day was ice carving and free ice skating for everyone. TLC fans gathered in Bonifacio High Street last November 21, 2015. We're lucky that our correspondent was able to attend this outdoor event and thank you in advance in sending these awesome photos that am going to share in my blog! First, TLC fans need to get their passport and they need to complete 7 signatures. All they have to do is to visit each booth and if you have accomplished all 7, you'll take home a goodie bag (I don't know if our correspondent was able to finish all activities, lol). There were booths from TLC shows that you need to take a look into them. Activities include pottery class, cake decorating or calligraphy class. One of the event's highlight was a live cooking demonstration from Fabulous Baker Brothers, Tom and Henry Herbert. Review on Majestic's Backlink Checker

Image
It's been a long time since I posted about SEO tools and gave a detailed review. Somehow, it motivated me to write today because this website is giving away a 13-inch Apple MacBook Air this Thanksgiving . Okay, am not after the prize (that's true!) but I wanted to give you a step by step analysis on how we use Majestic. I've been working with this industry for almost 8 years (whew!), I witnessed the importance of using SEO tools in our daily lives, we called them "lifesavers" or "early warning detectors." [caption id="attachment_10552" align="aligncenter" width="386"] Step 1: Go to https://majestic.com/. Register and Create your Free Account using your Email Address.[/caption] Whether your website is new or old, it is a mandatory that you perform a diagnostics specially checking the backlinks. Elfster Meet and Gift Magnet and Favorite Chocolate Exchange!

Image
This is my second time to join Elfster Gift Exchange, there are two items need to send to exchange partner: Fun Magnets and Chocolates. I don't have time to shop for these so I just ordered both items in Amazon (shipped separately!). Same rules from the previous postcard exchange. Elfster will randomly select your exchange partner and start sending your gift (if there items on the wishlist, you may check their Elfster). I'm glad that my exchange partners were so generous! I love their gifts. Again, thank you Elfster and to my exchange partners. Looking forward to another gift giving activity next month. How about you? Have you started your Christmas (wish)list? Or tried any other gift giving activity? I know there are risks involved like "trusting" the gift exchange platform and the person they randomly select as your partner. Happy Thanksgiving in advance!

Save hearts with art – Rotarians

Image
MANILA – The Rotary Club of Makati West (RCMW) is calling on art lovers to support their annual all-sculpture exhibit-sale dubbed “Alay Sining” to be held at The Gallery, Greenbelt 5, Makati City from November 12 to 15, 2015. Now on its eight year, Alay Sining 8’s theme is “Art with a Heart” which complements the Rotary International’s theme of “Be a Gift to the World”. Alay Sining is a fund-raising initiative for one of RCMW’s signature projects, the Gift of Life program, which gives congenital heart disease (CHD) patients under the program with free heart surgeries. According to RCMW President Victor “Junvee” Vital, supporting the art-for-a cause exhibit will not only mean supporting Filipino children with heart ailments but also local artists. Both seasoned and new sculptors will be contributing pieces to the Alay Sining, and donating a portion of the sale price of their art pieces to the exhibit’s intended recipients – the CHD patients that will be given free heart surgeries under...
