My U2 Innocence + Experience Tour in Chicago concert experience
On Sunday night of June 28, U2 returned to the stage (the band had a 5 night gig at the United Center).
I traveled 1.5 hours from my place to United Center and upon arriving the doors still closed and I saw a large crowds lining up in front of the gate and buying U2 merchandise at the truck. (Also read my pre-concert blog post here)
One of my goal on that day was to be able to capture Michael Jordan's statue. And yes, I succeeded. MJ statue is located at Gate 5 and my ticket said that I should enter at Gate 7. I also saw Blackhawks statue while walking going to Gate 7.
The crowd, I mean, U2 lovers were definitely mixed of old and young people. I also saw fans wearing their own vintage U2 shirts (hardcore fans, yeah) and some even brought banners.
Upon entering the venue, I was stunned with the stage set up. The "Innoncence stage" had a long platform and LED screen above. The crowd began to occupy the platform. I've read that "circular" stage means "Experience" so it was really a pretty awesome stage. I am excited. Chillax.
The show started with two songs, "People have the Power" when the band arrived at the back of the crowd. I didn't expected that to happen. Crowd gone wild when Bono grabbed the mic and started singing "The Miracle (of Joey Ramone)". Expect the band will sing some songs from the new album. Thank you Spotify! I was able to listen and familiarize myself before the actual concert so I can sing along LOL

I am going to focus on the stage because I love it! I was surprised when the LED screen had a ramp and I saw Bono (Cedarwood Road) walking inside during the show. I took a clip from my phone for you to see the awesomeness.
Also the band marched to the catwalk, everyone was screaming while "Sunday Bloody Sunday" turned into a simple band song performance along with the impressive visuals.

Expect old songs to reminisce and Bono perfectly delivered them well. The song "Pride (In the name of Love") was the most powerful one because it is a celebration of our equality and everyone was joyfully proud singing.
There was also a portion wherein U2 went live in Periscope. One fan was chosen to hold the iphone and capture the performance onstage. We read all screaming fans worldwide commenting flashing on the big screen, that was superb!
Overall, it was overwhelming being a fan for almost more than a decade (since birth!). I enjoyed all performances. I know that there were too many songs that they will include but this is one of their recent album tour so I am expecting they will return and perform their greatest hits (wishing).
A dream come true. Hope to see more of my favorites soon. Oh btw, I'm announcing that I will be watching "Janet Jackson" concert in October. I was fortunate to purchase a ticket in St Louis after Chicago was sold out the moment Ticketmaster opened the public sale and then the news the other day said that Janet Jackson is adding one more day show in Chicago (WOW!).
This the life of a fan girl. So, enjoy every moment of it :) Till my next adventure hahaha!
